About T.L.
Where it all began:
I was born and raised in Seattle, Washington, moving to Texas in the scorching summer of 2000. My creative writing and artistic ability started at an early age. When I was around eight years old, my mom ran a puppet show for the Children’s church we used to attend or “Junior Church” as it was called back in those days. I would help her create the puppets, scenery and backdrops, as well as script writing and participation. By the time I was ten, I was orchestrating plays and skits for the school assemblies entertaining larger groups of students aged Kindergarten through sixth grade at the school I attended, and at eleven I discovered my passion for writing poetry, one that has stayed with me ever since.
In middle school I won a contest in my English class for writing a short story I created. It included illustrations and I was invited to read it to all of the second grade students at one of the local Elementary schools at their story hour. It was such a joy to capture their attention and imagination as I narrated my story to them. By the time I reached High School, I found myself writing all the time.
The World of Eldhor:
The story started off as a simple bedtime story I started telling my daughter when she was around five or six years old. I would tell her a little bit of the story every night at her bedtime, stopping at an exciting part to keep her intrigued with this magical adventure. She was so excited about the world of Eldhor that she would get her nightly chores done earlier each night so we would have more time for my story telling. I had envisioned it to be a charming children’s book and I would illustrate the pictures for it, so I began putting pen to paper. I wanted it to have different interactive endings so the child could chose their own adventure on how the story would end. As time went by and my children got older, I found myself adding more and more to the story, turning it into the chapter style book it is today.
