Although you may not know it, the best place in the World to learn the English Language at the moment is not England, it's India.
Over here in the UK children have been using the look and say system to read for many years and a Government report just out last year now suggests the 'Synthetic Phonics' system is better. I have been putting together some decodeable primary school books (3 year olds to about 8 years old) and taking on the illustration work myself (an exhausting journey). I think that as we get further into the series of books we would like to see if they would be of use to early readers in India - if this is the case, it would be great to collaborate with an illustrator in India (and maybe a publisher/printer/distributor in India too). We have a good friend in the UK, Bharat Karavadra, who travels to India a few times each year but he has not any contacts in the publishing World.
