After 32 years of roaming the halls of east and west slope Colorado middle schools, high schools, and the University of Denver as a teacher and counselor, I now have part-time jobs with an excellent west slope greenhouse (Mt. Garfield Greenhouse) and two wineries (Whitewater Hill and Reeder Mesa Vineyards). In fact, wine was the catalyst for the project my sister and wife and I have been working on, a book of illustrated haiku depicting the misadventures and accompanying thoughts of our cat, Pooka. It's called "The Pooku: Haiku for Pooka", and the subtitle more accurately captures its essence: "Thwart Not My Feline Desires!"

Colorado is a wonderful place, and I have lived here for 37 years after growing up in northern California. I completed four years of undergraduate education at Stanford University, and have attended graduate schools at UCLA, the University of Colorado, and Denver University, resulting in Masters degrees in Gifted and Talented Education and Counseling Psychology, and a Ph.D. in Human Services. I have cycled the state, climbed many of the state's 14'ers, hacked around innumerable golf courses, and run a handful of high altitude marathons and half-marathons. Now I enjoy reading, writing, riding, tabulating the solar energy produced by our panels, imbibing the fabulous wines being produced here on the west slope and around the state, and helping my lovely wife Heidi with our vegetable and flower gardens. All of this while counting the days until the merciful end of eight years of farcical defilement of our reputation and foundation by the Cheerleader-in-Chief.
