Patricia Merker is a wife and the mother of two great kids, Haley and Jordan, who inspired her to write The Grand Master/Little Master Series. She was disillusioned with the lack of spiritual, New Age material available for children. There was no shortage of parenting books, but little for children, on an interactive level, that was stimulating enough to hold a child’s attention. Her wonderful family and supportive friends told her that the parents and children of the world needed to meet Grand Master; that the world would be a better place.

Patricia began typing and within a few days, the first story was complete. She knew from the very beginning, it was meant to be published and available to parents and children across the globe. Despite the ten years that it took her to find a publisher, she remained steadfast in her conviction that it was just a matter of time; the right time. Having read Neale Donald Walsch’s, Conversations With God series, and attended one of his weekend retreats at The Omega Institute in NY, she was certain that her work belonged with him. Neale’s non-profit organization, ReCreation, supported her every step of the way, but was unable to bring it to publication. After endless hours of sending out manuscripts “snail mail”, she finally put it away in a drawer, where it remained until recently.

In April, 2009, Patricia was searching through a drawer and stumbled across her manuscript. Filled with a sense that the timing might be right, she did a search on “Children’s Spiritual Publishers” and was thrilled to find Pick-a-Woo Woo. She submitted her story (this time by email!) and was contacted by Julie-Ann with an interest in publishing her story. Incredibly, just two days later, she was contacted by Linda Lee Ratto, Executive Director of The School of the New Spirituality, after receiving The Grand Master/Little Master Series from the president of Neale Donald Walsch’s CWG Foundation. She claimed it had been on the top of her desk for over a year, and would also like to discuss the possibility of publishing the first book. It was a good fit, and it supported the New Spirituality Principles from Neale’s work. SNS lovingly supported the publishing with Pick-a-Woo Woo and agreed to feature it on their SNS web site.

Patricia was born on November 20, 1956 in Columbus, OH. She graduated from Ontario High School and went directly into retail sales, then retail management. She served on the Board of Directors for a new charter school, Love of Learning, in Largo, FL. Additionally, she was the Children’s Program Director at The Center for Conscious Living in Largo, FL. She wishes that she could boast some impressive educational credentials, but the truth is, she has never written anything other than an occasional note for an excused absence for one of her children from school. It is precisely because of this, that she feels she was an instrument; a messenger of sorts; to introduce parents and children of the world to The Grand Master/Little Master Series. It is her belief that she is no more an instrument than you, the reader. The goal of this series is to make you believe it too.
