I am new to writing for children. I am an optometrist. I am published in ophthalmic literature but am new to children's literature. I love eyes, vision and the natural visual world. I recently learned about jacketflap through an online course, "Writing for Children." Just started a local critique group through SCBWI where we are all excited about our new adventure in the children's literture market for our stories. I am grateful for support of nearby SCBWI writers. Enjoying writing poems, stories, my first middle grade chapter book. The process of seeking publication is daunting. My immediate goal is to edit my book and some verse with help from my group and seek a publisher. Naive, I know, but I am on a steep learning curve.
I love hugging my grand-daughter, walking in the New England coastal fresh air in all seasons, writing, reading and the rhythm of knitting needles. A new love is butterflies which I discovered while researching for my chapter book.
