Hello! I'm new to all of this - writing children's books, trying to get published, doing something on the internet other than reading my e-mail - in other words, I am a complete novice at all of this. I do not have a picture up on my profile page because I do not have a recent photo and I do not know how to post one via the internet. But, I am glad to learn, especially if I have friends who are willing to help me out. I am excited about going forward in this excursion into a new phase of my life. For the past 22 years I have played the role of mother and now that I have no children at home, I need to restart my efforts into a more personally satisfying endeavor. I have already written two short children's books about an 8 year old girl, but I have not sent them out to any publishers. I am not sure whether I should just send them out cold turkey or get an agent to help me. Or what? Experience and advice is greatly appreciated. I would be glad to do the same for anyone if I can.
