From a young age, my Scottish grandfather regaled me with songs and stories of the old world and tales of the Australian bush - pioneering and prospecting tales. Story is in my genes.
I work with story in various formats as an oral teller of tales traditional, literary and original, personal and family; as a writer; and, as an oral historian recording and transcribing personal and group stories (particularly those of indigenous people).
But my greatest passion is writing for younger children. I am a life member of the Storytelling Guild of Australia (WA); and, a member of Peter Cowan Writers Centre, EditorsWA and SCBWI
My publishing record is a little sparse but I live in hope! I have had a number of poems and short stories published in various anthologies and magazines; and several biographical peces published in journals. In 2007 I produced my first children’s picture book: Connie and the Pigeons.
