I am the fifth of seven children of MR AFARI ASSAN, the author.

AFARI ASSAN, a retired Assistant Director, Ghana Education Service, is a veteran teacher, of both English Language and Literature. Since graduating B.A HONS (LOND) in English at the University College of the Gold Coast (now Ghana) in 1955, he has taught English Language and Literature in Secondary, Teacher Training and Tertiary institutions.
Before returung voluntarily from the G.E.S. in 1980, he was Head of the English Department, Advanced Teacher Training College, then a diploma- awarding institute.
He won a Valco Fund Literary Award in 1988 for his short story KILL MY DAD and in 1998 he won the first prize in a story-writing competition organised by UNICEF, the British Council and the G.E.S. with his short story ADEFE AND THE OLD CHIEF. Heinemaann (JAWS). He is a co-author of a COMPREHENSIVE ENGLISH COURSE for Junior High School's published by Afram Publication Limited.
