I'm the author of 38 nonfiction children's books and the author of How to Publish Your Children's Book (Square One Publishers). As a result of the latter, I speak frequently to writers' groups, particularly children's book writers. No one can give you guidance on the industry better than someone who has been there, and I enjoy being the voice of encouragement. Too often when I'm a guest panelist at these conferences it amazes me how negative other writers, agents and editors can be. I mean, whatever happened to a little positive reinforcement?
