Illustrator/Author/Designer

Kate Gleeson started her design career in the newspaper industry in 1976 working in advertising design and graphics. She then went on to freelance illustration and in 1979 became the proprietor of a cottage industry which designed, manufactured, and marketed stuffed animals, children's clothing and accessories based on her own line of animal characters called "Little Beasties". In 1983 Little Beasties began appearing on greeting cards with Pawprints, Inc. and then in children's books with Golden Books Publishing exclusively from 1990-2000. While with Golden, Kate illustrated twenty-eight titles, writing nine of them as well. Over five million of her story books, coloring and activity books and puzzles have been sold worldwide.
