About Jessica Garlitz
My name is Jessica Kwon. I am an American who is eager to become a published author through your company. I am an experienced anthropologist and teacher, who has been writing for decades. I specialize in the instruction of English as a second language and teaching reading skills to struggling readers. Here are some of the books that I hope to publish:
~The Great Mr. G. This is a realistic fiction narrative, which is targeted for grades 4-7. It is humorous and inspirational. It’s about an elementary school girl and her outrageous teacher. In it, she talks about some of the querky things he does to make learning fun.
~Traveling Baxter: South Korea This is an ethnography about Korean people, written for children. I hope that it will be one in a series of ethnographies. It is presented through the eyes of a stuffed bear that travels to different countries as part of a class trip. He then returns to an elementary classroom to share his adventure. It’s reminiscent of the “Flat Stanley Project” that swept the nation’s school rooms this century. It is appropriate for kids in grades 2-8. It’s humorous and informative.
~Grace from Outer Space This book is a short fiction book. It is targeted for children in grades K-2. In it, a cute little alien uses her strange outer space vocabulary to teach children English body parts. It is very helpful for ESL kids and those who struggle with reading.
I would love to send you my full manuscript of any of these works. I look forward to hearing from you soon!
