I'm a poet, a playwright, an erstwhile director of avant-garde theatre, a self-confessed dilettante and the author of a number of picture book manuscripts seeking a publisher. These are folk tales written in a traditional style with story content that will appeal to adults as well as children and which offer rich opportunities for illustration. If you're familiar with Italo Calvino's "Italian Folktales", then you have at least a vague idea of the literary style of these tales of mine. A selection of titles would include: "A Poor Artist's Remarkable Gift"; "The Gazelle King"; "A Sack of Tears", "The White Tortoise of Ch'u" and "The Two-headed Phoenix". I'd be open to possibly collaborating with the right illustrator looking for a story to illustrate.
