David is a born creative, with an inherent attraction to visual imagination. He possesses a never-ending passion for all forms of art - whether it is visual or musical.

After earning a bachelor's degree in Communication Design from the University of North Texas, David made a living as a designer and illustrator for such studios and agencies as, Lindsey Design Group, Grey Worldwide and Blanchard Schaefer Advertising – earning a number of Addy and Graphic Design:USA awards.

After becoming a father, he realized that his path in life was going to change. It was after 13 years of graphic design that he decided to become an elementary school art teacher. He finds purpose in teaching: helping children not only learn about art - but to help them discover their inner talents and build their self-worth to become confident, responsible and compassionate adults.

As passionate an illustrator as he is a teacher, he is a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators and also teaches illustration at the University of Texas in Arlington.

His preferred medium is watercolor and pencils. Yet, his explorations in design have led him to include Adobe Photoshop and Corel Painter as well.

David’s work has appeared in the “Journal of Prothetics and Orthodics” and “Odyssey” (Cobblestone Publishing).
