Charlotte Marriott was born in 1990 and grew up in Dutchess County, New York. She graduated from Millbrook High School in 2009 and currently attends the College of Mount Saint Vincent where she is pursuing an undergraduate major in Biology and a minor in Creative Writing. She worked as a religion teacher for Confirmation candidates in her Roman Catholic parish of St. Joseph's for four years. Apart from a published author, Charlotte would like to become a veterinarian, exhibit her artwork, and possibly become a Catholic nun. She keeps chickens (currently Oatsy, Celina, Francesca, Anna, Martha, Alice, Phoebe, Julia, Isabel, Reesa, and Luna) and has a turtle named Luisa. The Smallest Island is dedicated to the memory of her best friend, a beautiful Pekingese named Genevieve (2004-2010).
