For as long as I can remember, I've had a passion for drawing -- and for capturing "the emotion of the moment" to tell a story, with or without words. I am self-taught in a variety of mediums that include pastel, colored pencil, watercolor, graphite and ink.

The majority of my work is commissioned by authors within the self-publishing arena, however, two books that I both authored and illustrated, have been published by Peter Pauper Press. Those books are titled, Simpson's Sheep Won't Go to Sleep! (2013 Peter Pauper Press) and Simpson's Sheep Just Want to Sleep! (2017 Peter Pauper Press).

The first Simpson's Sheep book has garnered a number of awards and accolades: Winner of two 2014 Nebraska Book Award categories -- Children's and Cover/Design/Illustration. 2015-2016 Golden Sower Award nominee. Simpson's Sheep Won't Go to Sleep! represented the state of Nebraska at the 2015 National Book Festival, and in 2016 the book was appointed to the Nebraska 150 Book List. The sequel, Simpson's Sheep Just Want to Sleep! was released in August, 2017.

Prior to launching Arant Creative Group as a full-time illustrator and editor, I enjoyed a career of nearly 20 years in the magazine and custom publishing industry, where I held a variety of editorial and creative positions in addition to my work as a freelance illustrator.
