I have been married to my husband for almost 15 years. We have 2 children. My son is 10 and my daughter is 6. I taught preschool for 16 years and now am a teachers aid at our elementary school.I wrote a children's book called "The Bravest Boy I Ever Knew". It was recently published by Tate Publishing. This story is about a boy named Michael who tells about his best friend who is disabled. After reading many books I never came across any about disabled children and 'normal" children being friends. I want "normal" children to know that disabled children have the same likes, dislikes, talents, and interests as them.I wrote this book about a cousin of mine who wasn't supposed to live to be a teenager, instead he lived to be 43 years old. My cousin had a disease called familial dysautonomia. He never let this disease get the best of him, he didn't let it control his life. Michael lived every day as a new day.
