About Ann
Ann Haywood Leal is the author of the middle-grade novel, ALSO KNOWN AS HARPER (Henry Holt BYR, May 2009). She teaches first grade and volunteers at her local soup kitchen. A Seattle area native, she now lives and writes in Connecticut. Like her character, Harper Lee Morgan, Ann tries to find the humor and hope in all situations.
