Alexandra Gnoske was born and raised in Andersonville, Chicago. She has always had a passion for nature and wildlife, nurtured by frequent trips to the Lincoln Park Zoo and watching National Geographic specials. She attended College at Colorado State University where she received her Bachelor of Science in Wildlife Biology in 1993. Ms. Gnoske worked in the field studying the black tailed prairie dog and worked on the black footed ferret recovery project throughout the prairie states. She also taught environmental science to elementary school children in Arkansas at the Ozark Natural Science Center.

In 1996 Ms. Gnoske attended the top rated environmental law school in the country, Northwestern School of Law of Lewis and Clark College, in Portland, Oregon. Ms. Gnoske was an Articles Editor on the Animal Law Journal, the Student (Government) Bar Association President in 1998-1999 and received the Environmental Leadership Award upon graduating in 1999.

Currently Ms. Gnoske resides in North Park, Chicago, is married to her third grade crush, enjoys a household of three young children, and a new dog. She volunteers for the art committee at St. Edward Elementary School, is a member of the Chicago Green Fest Host Committee, is the President and Founder of Recycle Me, an organic cotton clothing company, and is now a published author and illustrator of “Loui Saves the Earth.” She enjoys working in her garden, playing the piano, biking, and bird watching along the North Branch of the Chicago River.
