About David
With my wife Hazuki Kataoka, I write, publish, and perform traditional Japanese kamishibai (paper theater) dramas. The stories are printed on a stack of large cardboard cards with colorful artwork on the front and dramatic text on the back, which enables a performer to read to a group of children without turning her head.

very interesting. Almost makes one want to re think the big book. I used to keep a list of upper level questions tacked to my wall so that after I read to the kids I could keep them in mind, but this is a cool idea. Something to keep in mind when my class and I make books next year.
