Hi, my name is Sandi. I am a teacher in the Elmira City School District. I have been a fourth-grade teacher for 8 years and then a Reading Coach with a Reading First school for 2 years. Now, I am lucky to be doing something I never thought I would be doing - teaching first-grade! This is my first year teaching first-grade and I absolutely love it! I love my students and the hugs that I get every day.

Reading is my passion and I especially love children's books. Picture books, young adult books, chapter books - I can't wait for summer vacation to load up my book bag and curl up with books. I have written several children's books (unpublished) and have many ideas. I am currently taking an online course to improve my craft. Hopefully, I will see something get published.

I have two grown children; a son (35) who has given me a wonderful grandson (8 years-old) and a daughter (29) who teaches autistic children. My husband and I also have a "baby" at home. Daisy is her name and she is a white Peek-a-Poo. She keeps us very busy and helps fill the empty nest.
