Susannah Felts is the author of This Will Go Down on Your Permanent Record, a novel published by the clever and esteemed indie press Featherproof Books. She's also an associate editor at Health magazine, and currently shacks up with her husband Todd Dills and their two cats in downtown Birmingham, Alabama, where they have a great view of freight trains rumbling by, and, in the distance, the Appalachian ridge known as Red Mountain. They have a baby on the way, so soon Susannah will be able to call herself a mama (a bunch of people have tagged her as such already).

Prior to moving to Alabama, Susannah taught English and creative writing at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (where she earned her MFA in Writing in 2000) for seven years. She also taught writing at Columbia College Chicago and in the Chicago Public Schools, and freelanced regularly for the Chicago Reader, Time Out Chicago, and other publications. She and her husband both called Chicago home for eight years, and truth is, though both are native Southerners, they miss it very much!

Susannah's fiction and essays have been published in Quarterly West, ACM, The Sun, Tank, McSweeney's, Pindeldyboz, THE2NDHAND, and elsewhere.
