About Roy
I am a 59 year old writer who loves to write humor and children's poetry and short stories. I am currently writing a book based on my childhood growing up as the son of a Methodist Preacher in South Carolina. The book is based on a semi-fictional town called Tuckertown. Itt is a composite of all the small towns we lived in growing up. The characters are also based loosely on persons I knew (many were members of my father's different churches.) One of the main characters, Dillon "Booger" Stump, is a bit autobiographical, although I was never quite as bold as Booger. Anyhow, that's my story and I'm sticking to it, despite what my sister says.
That same sister is also a gifted writer and uses the pen name "Moliz". She is the inspiration for a lot of my writing because of her incredible humor and "never say die" attitude.
My father is my other inspiration. Until a stroke took his memory he was a very gifted poet...having had many of his poems published.
I have also written a series of children's poems about wonderful little people called the HaHa's. They are a bit magical and very eccentric. I would love to partner with a gifted illustrator to do the HaHa illustrations. If anyone is interested I will send samples of some of the HaHa poems, there are 12 in all. Each one long enough to make a children's book.
