Book lover, heavily addicted reader, biological consultant, spent 5 happy years as Library Assistant in the Oakland, California Branch Juvenile division (Oroville Tuttle was my boss) -- several decades ago. Learned to love children's books -- as our job was to help branch librarians choose books, part of the job was reading the books. Oh bliss. Write a bit (I'd rather be reading), most recently provided a section on cooking fish for my husband's Cal Press Natural History of Fishes of California, and some articles for the Arthur Ransome Society, on the natural history of some of the animals that the plots of the Swallows and Amazons books turn upon (Ransome was a great naturalist, years ahead of his time).
