I've been coming up with stories and writing for as long as I can remember. I have one published children's book, 'Tiny Hootie and the Hidden Treasure' co-authored with Steven Skelton. I'm looking forward to publishing at least one on my children's books in 2014.

I also write general fiction with emphasis on the 'chicklit' style of writing. I write for a local newspaper on a rotational basis that pertains to my 'day job', called 'Investing at 4118 ft'- available online at www.HighlandsInfo.com under news. I also write a short monthly gardening article for The Laurel Magazine (www.thelaurelmagazine.com)- you can find me in the Venture Out section- my moniker is The Accidential Gardener.

I completed the course 'Writing for children and teenagers' from The Institute of Children's Literature', and am a member of a local writer's group.

I enjoy networking with other writers on social media (Facebook, Twitter, Tsu, Goodreads, LinkedIn, etc.)I've met 'new friends' over the last few years, and discovered lots (and lots and lots) of new books to read.

My husband and I own a real estate and vacation rental company in the mountains of western NC- our busy season is mostly June - December. Our small company has been family owned and operated since 1941.

Looking forward to networking with other writers here, and exploring the possibility of finding an illustrator for a few 'baby and younger children books' that are in the works.
