About Emily Claire
Hi there!
I am a freelance illustrator, animator and mother of two living in Berlin. I usually work with watercolours, but also use acrylic markers, gouache, pens or ink. I often assemble bigger pieces in photoshop (which I also use for minor corrections). Some of my work, especially patterns, has been vectorised - but that's about as digital as it gets. In true wabi-sabi fashion, I believe that imperfections and mistakes give my artwork it's special uniqueness and soul.
I have a background in Theatre and Performing Arts, and graduated from LIPA (Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts) in 2003. Since then, my work has shifted from the stage to the screen, then to the city landscape, to gaming worlds, and now onto paper.
I truly love what I am doing and am currently working on a few children's books projects. If you like my work and are looking for a book illustrator, editorial designer, pattern maker or an artist for children's products, I would love to hear from you. I'm also keen to collaborate with authors on children's books ideas.
Thanks for stopping by and have a lovely day!
