Writing has been a passion of mine since childhood, but I suspect I am like many of you in that life "got in the way." I was an elementary and middle school teacher, then a reading specialist, grades K-12, and an assistant professor in elementary communication arts. With three children, I have taken a break from teaching and finding time to write.

The publishing houses were not looking at new authors as they were having a hard time getting their contracted authors' books out. After our contract expired, we decided to self-pu... more
