Hi! I am Bonnie Ferrante when I write for children and YA, Tittaferrante otherwise. Noble Young Adult has released Dawn’s End my romantic fantasy.I am a recently retired teacher. Two of my articles will appear soon in Kiki Magazine. When Fred Stenson chose my short story as third prize, he wrote, "This author has exciting gifts. What a talent!" Gordon Korman selected my story The Amida Tree as a winner in a 2010 NOWW children’s writing contest. My story on bullying was chosen by Anne Coleman this year. I have been published in the YA anthologies Many Cultures, Many Voices: Collection Two, Takes, and Close Ups: Best Stories for Teens selected by The Canadian Children’s Book Centre. My work has appeared in the magazines Highlights, Kidsworld, and Hopscotch for Girls. Challenging Destiny, The Wolf’s Eye, Takes, and Close Ups, and wrote for the Chronicle-Journal newspaper for four years. My work is posted on CBCNews.ca. Older work is published as Bonnie Blake.I have a B.A. in English and a B.Ed. in primary, junior, and intermediate. I have completed university, college, and community workshops, on-line courses and retreats on writing and belong to Northern Ontario Writers Workshop (executive member), Writers Northwest, and Women on Writing.I am a lay-leader of the Jodo Shinshu Buddhist Fellowship of Thunder Bay. I have been trained under the direction of Sensei Ulrich of the Manitoba Buddhist Temple and Socho Fujikawa of The Jodo Shinshu Temples of Canada. I have been a Buddhist for three decades. I completed the Center for Buddhist Education (Berkeley) four term correspondence course on Jodo Shinshu Buddhism.
