Award-winning author Amy Allgeyer Cook is a graduate of the Institute for Children’s Literature, an alumnus of the Highlight’s Workshop for Children’s Writers in Chautauqua NY, a participant of the Nevada SCBWI Mentor Program and a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators. Her work has appeared in Family Fun, Stories for Children and A Fly in Amber. Her short-story, Baby Steps, appears in "Creek Kids Anthology" (2009) and her middle-grade fantasy novel, The Iron Bodkin (2010) is available at bookstores nationwide.

Amy lives in Boise, with her husband, son, two ducks, one chicken and a
feral house cat. She manages her own architecture firm, focusing on green residential remodels in Boise’s historic North End. She enjoys playing soccer, tennis and volleyball. She also loves to
read, eat cupcakes and travel with her family, most recently to Ecuador.
