Al Margolis is well known for his inventive visuals and insightful humorous illustrations.
A Cleveland Art School graduate, his career includes a long stint as an advertising agency art director, and more recently as owner of Margolis Creative, a design and illustration group.
In addition to children’s books, his illustrations have been used for advertising, including of course baby products, children's toys, magazine editorial assignments, medical calendars and day planners for International Medical Publishing, greeting cards and e-books, by clients around the country and beyond, including Australia, Canada, China and England.
His community work includes advertising for a children's art center, a private school, a foster care and adoption home, and handicapped facility. Helping children enjoy, learn and understand their experiences is an important part of his work. He brings his broad experience and supportive approach to every project.
And occasionally, when there is spare time, he makes frames for the paintings done by his wife Penny, a folk artist. He also manages his two web sites: www.almargolis.com, and www.margoliscreative.com.
