I live in Florida, next to the Everglades, my favorite place. I love wildlife, birds are my favorite. I am a Pediatric Nurse. I am currently working on my Picture Book The Spoonbills are leaving.
This book takes a bird's eye view on Going Green. Patty Spoonbill, a waddling bird, encounters the Governor for the first time when she mistakes his fluffy brown hair for a bird's nest. She then writes him a letter asking him to save her beloved wetland, the Florida Everglades, from pollution and over population....Patty enjoys life in the Everglades with her family and friends, but does not know how much longer they can live there because of its fragile ecosystem. With the low water level there is not enough food to eat. She feels like she is on a diet. In addition, these days, the only green Patty sees are the algae that are polluting the water supply.
