I'm wondering what your opinion is of getting someone to edit my book before I go any further. I just want to know if I'm as good as I think I am or just wasting my time. If you do think it's a good idea, can you recommend someone who won't cost an arm and a leg? Thank you.

Lois, when my son and daughter were very young, we'd walk to the local library every Thursday afternoon. Picture books became our mainstay, and we began to notice how many favorites were published by Greenwillow. It became a game--Guess the Greenwillow.

At 72, I just go around to schools and libraries and entertain. I hope that you are not one of those editors that hates rhyming poetry. My web site, www.familypoet.com contains over a thousand of my poems and illustrations. and has had over 77,000 hits, which is pretty good for an unknown, rhyming, poet. I read to hundreds of children and adults each year at the George Bush Library.
