About Munro Leaf
Munro Leaf is a published author and an editor of children's books. Some of the published credits of Munro Leaf include Manners Can Be Fun, Brushing Your Teeth Can Be Fun: And Lots of Other Good Ideas for How to Grow Up Healthy, Strong, and Smart, The Story of Ferdinand (Puffin Storytime), and Noodle.
He lived in Old Greenwich, Connecticut, and was a part of the Connecticut Playmakers, a group of very talented people who pooled their abilities to create a community dramatic and musical group. My grandmother, Eva Swain, who was the first American girl to the the premiere danseuse at the Met, was part of the group. He was called Mun, for short, and during the second year, was President of the group.
Old Greenwich was a bedroom community for NYC. All of these people, including his wife, Margaret, had highly professional backgrounds. They were all remarkable people and it was fun to know all of them.
I am writing a book about my grandmother and was just rewriting the section on these people and it was fun to find this site with his books. He also wrote a book that sold by the thousands called
"Annie, the Anopheles Mosquito."
