I used to spend my summers at my grandparents' homes going to the boardwalk and riding the rides.

One was the very same tea cup ride you have illustrated. I never could figure out how to twirl the cups around really fast.

I love painting rocks. So many different shapes & colors that lead to an abstract design.
My problem with painting them is that I render all of them equally sharp and in the spot light! Not really good for a painting, so I worked on only sharpening the ones around the boys and trying to mute the others.It took a lot of self discipline to hold back on them!

I can feel myself with them, trying to keep my balance on the unsteady ground. It definitely brings back memories.

I did do this one, just for this project and also included it in my painting a child a day project. I hit 2 birds with one stone...so to speak..lol.

This scene actually was at my son's 3rd grade concert. The boys sitting on the floor and the girl walked by. One spoke to her. I took the photo of them, to work them into a painting. The dress is the actual dress she was wearing, the whole wardrobe is.
I painted this for my 'painting a child a day' project. :)I also
incorporated the flowers for the watercolor Wednesday post.
