6. DESIGNER - helene-marie gilmour

Helene-Marie Gilmour is a freelance Designer and Illustrator from the UK. After working in the design industry for over fifteen years Helene-Marie decided to go it alone two years ago and says she has never looked back! Alongside her freelance work, Helene-Marie has also been developing her own collection of  patterns for textiles which will hopefully extend into other products in the future.

7. FABRICS - hokkoh japan

Today I am celebrating the ingenuity of Japanese fabrics again with a look at some lovely prints spotted at Hokkoh. This Osaka based fabric company was founded in 1980 and manufactures around 600 designs a year. They exhibit at Premier Vision in both Paris and New York. 8. FABRICS - kiruma

Staying with the Japanese theme these fabrics from Kiruma caught my eye for their Scandi style designs. Kiruma is the work of designer/illustrator Masanori Inui who created the brand for fabric manufacturer Koizumi Tex Life. The designs were inspired by Northern Europe and the name Kiruma was taken from a village in Estonia.

13. FABRICS - eri shimatsuka

Staying with Kokka we have these fun Scandinavian style fabrics created by Eri Shimatsuka a designer who was born in Japan but is now based in Finland. Andrea Müller has created this lovely fabric new collection called 'Vintage Kitchen' for American fabric company Riley Blake. It's features a bold range of prints in three different colour groups and catching my eye was the highly original graphic carrots design and elegant raindrop geometric.
