3. Wendy Binks and The Stunned Emu in Fremantle

Loved Wendy Binks at the SCBWI Rottnest Retreat – Wendy can dance and tell stories.

She just completed a nearly 700 kilometre hike through the Australian snowfields solo!!! She didn’t see anyone for weeks, slept with marsupials, got trapped in an early snow storm … and nearly died … (Wendy thinks I’m dramatic, but it’s TRUE.)

You’ll be happy to know that Wendy lived and has a fabulous art studio- shop in Fremantle’s cappucino street with:-

Paintings, canvas prints, artifacts of Spikey the Emu – and her picture books of Spikey. New one is in progress. I happily took away a Spikey bag and book for my flight back to Sydney.
