I’ve been busy working on my digital shop over at Etsy lately. It’s so addicting coming up with new items, themes and sets..who knew I’d have such a fun time making these little ditties! Check them out at the new digital download store on Etsy!

I want to give away a free copy of the book.
Why? Well, because I'm a heck of a guy, that's why.
However, giving away something requires a contest, and contests are more often than not a pain in the poop cheeks of those putting them together.
If I'm going to do a contest I want to keep it simple - because I'm lazy.
To enter all you have to do is finish the following sentence:
"I really, really want a free copy of "Forts" because..."
That's it.
Just tell me why you deserve to get the book for free and email it to: [email protected]
In the end, I'm the judge. I'll pick my favorite and when the book is released you'll not only get it for free, but I'll sign it and maybe even draw a little something on the inside cover. I'll do whatever you want. If you feel like you really need me to put on some lipstick, pucker up and give it a kiss I'll do that too.
Keep in mind however that asking me to do such a thing would be horrifying, and confusing request - no doubt instantly transforming you into a grade-A weirdo in my eyes.
Who knows, maybe you're cool with that? Maybe that's exactly what you're going for? I'm not here to judge really, just give away free stuff.
Make your response funny, give me a sob story, threaten my life and the lives of those I love - I don't care - do what you have to do in order to convince me that you deserve a freebie over the other dudes sending emails my way.
You could even bribe me, though that would seem to defeat the purpose.
THE DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS IS MARCH 15, 2010. I'll announce the winner a few days later.
See, nice and easy. It'll take you all of fifteen seconds. Get to it.

As the ultimate chocolaholic, I was skeptical. Chocolate cake in a mug? In the microwave? in 5 minutes?? Might be barely edible, but that's all.
I had all the ingredients, so why not give it a try? With about 5 minutes prep time, I popped the first mug in the microwave for 2 minutes.
After letting it cool for 10 minutes (believe me, this was hard because it smelled heavenly) I took a skeptical bite. Delicious! Amazingly delicious! How could something this easy be so good!
There are several recipes for Chocolate Mug Cake, but here's the one I spotted in the September edition of
Good Housekeeping.
Ingredients:
2 tablespoons flour (I used self-rising. Some recipes call for cake flour)
3 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa
1 large egg
2 tablespoons milk
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
2 tablespoons chocolate chips
small splash of vanilla extract
Preparation:
Add dry ingredients to mug and mix well. Add egg and mix thoroughly. Pour in milk and oil and mix well. Add chocolate chips and vanilla extract and...you got it...mix well.
Microwave on high for 2 minutes. The cake may rise over the top of the mug (I used over-size coffee mug), but don't be alarmed! Allow to cool and tip onto plate if desired. (Hubby added vanilla ice cream to his)
Please let me know how you like it!

I don't have to taste it and I already like it! Warm chocolate so close at hand, what could be better than that!
This is just mean!! You put something like this out here for diabetics to see! What are you thinking? Trying to decide how I can adapt this to not make my sugar skyrocket, cause even that little bit of sugar will do it.
But my mom gets here today, so we might just have this do a special dessert after dinner and consequences be danged!

Here's a healthier version, but still has suger. Maybe you could substitute Splenda.
4 tablespoons whole-wheat flour
3 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa
1/4 cup egg substitute (with yolk) or 1 egg
3 tablespoons lowfat milk or fat free half and half
1 tablespoon canola oil
2 tablespoons fat free sour cream
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 tablespoons semi sweet chocolate chips (optional)
Sorry...but it was still FREAKIN' GOOD!! :>)
Soooo yummy looking! Karen sent me and now I NEED one of these!

I think that's what makes it so good, Anne. It's warm!
Nick, you have no excuses for not making this. Just dump everything in a mug and microwave for 2 minutes. I'll expect you to report back. :>)
I, too, was going to ask Karen if Splenda works for her. It's great in some things.
Okay, now must try this myself. Gee, thanks, Mare, for the extra temptation!!! :)

This sounds delish! I'll be sure to try it the next time the hubby and I decide to have a cheat day :-D Thanks so much for sharing the recipe!
It "almost" makes enough for 2. I say almost because it's so yummy, you're gonna want your own!
Thanks for the comment, Melissa. Stop back and let me know how you like it.
