We started off May with one of our best shows, Texas Frightmare Weekend in Dallas, Fort Worth. One of my all time favorite Horror Conventions, Frightmare did not disappoint. Sales were a little down from last year, but still above average.
2 Weeks later, we were off on our 2 week long trip to the Midwest. Denver Comic Con and Phoenix Comicon. Driving through Utah to Colorado was beautiful trip. I love to show rather than tell, so here are a bunch of photos from the road:
And our table and booth Setups at both shows:
At Phoenix Comicon I got to work on quite a bit of commissions. These were drawings of some of the TV actors that were guests at the show. Summer Glau as River Tam from Serenity, Lexa Doig from Andromeda , Alyson Hannigan as Willow from Buffy, Katee Sackhoff as Sarbuck from Battlestar Galectica, Charisma Carpenter as Cordelia Chase from Buffy and Danielle Panabaker as Caitlin Snow from The Flash:
From what I've read around the web, this "new" trailer really isn't that new since the movie was originally supposed to be released last year. However, I've never seen this clip before so it's 100% new to me.
The Knights of Badassdom almost appears to be the geek answer to Evil Dead, with a small group of people into LARP (Live Action Role Play) accidentally unleashing some supernatural badness into the world after reading from a book.
It's not overly bloody or gory (although there is a bit of red stuff flowing), and the film actually looks a little dumb... in a goofy, lovable sort of way. Still, I can't imagine why Hollywood hasn't rushed this baby to the theater, or at least straight to DVD because it stars Summer Glau, a big draw for Firefly fans, and Peter Dinklage.
Yes, that's right. It has Tyrion Lannister in it, which is reason enough for me to keep an eye on this because I'm a huge fan of HBO's Game of Thrones and 'The Imp.'
What do you think? Is this epic coolness or what?
Many thanks to the ladies at The Mary Sue for sharing this.
