Batman’s famous sidekick, Robin, may be played by a female in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
Rumors have been swirling in Hollywood that Catching Fire actress Jena Malone will be taking on that role. According to Variety, the movie studio has not confirmed this to be true. The theatrical release date has been scheduled for March 25, 2016.
Here’s more from Time: “Making Robin a woman, though, isn’t all that drastic. Zack Snyder’s Batman v. Superman movie is reportedly based largely on Frank Miller’s comic The Dark Knight Returns, in which Batman’s sidekick is a woman named Carrie Kelley. In the comics, a raven-haired Kelley—obsessed with the Dark Knight—saves him from some bad guys in order to win his trust and become the new Robin.”

Hunger Games actress Jennifer Lawrence will earn $10 million for starring in the sequel, Catching Fire. Lawrence only earned $500,000 (plus bonuses) for her performance in the first Hunger Games movie.
Here’s more from The Hollywood Reporter: “[Lawrence's] original deal with studio Lionsgate locked her into four planned films based on the best-selling Suzanne Collins trilogy, but producers — recognizing the success of the franchise — moved to renegotiate her contract as the film became an international sensation.”
Co-stars Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson are also rumored to be seeking pay bumps.

Alexander, perhaps in your rush to write up a few more snarky comments about Batman v Superman, the facts got lost along the way. Collider reported that the extended version of the film will be released *digitally* on June 28th, while the Blu Ray and DVD editions will be on sale starting July 19th.
For the record, I liked the movie and look forward to seeing more of it.
Egg on my face, you’re right and I’m wrong!
I’m glad you enjoy the film. I didn’t, particularly. Not trying to take the piss out of anyone who likes it. I was really looking forward to it and was sorely disappointed, so I find my peace in criticizing the work. I won’t ever criticize its fans.
What a gracious reply. Thank you for the distinction. Sorry the movie wasn’t your cup of tea.
