Sony Pictures has unveiled the official trailer for the Goosebumps movie. The video embedded above offers glimpses of Jack Black playing the Goosebumps book series creator R.L. Stine.
According to Vanity Fair, other members of the cast include Dylan Minnette (who plays Zach) and Odeya Rush (who plays Hannah). Danny Elfman composed the score for this film.
Entertainment Weekly reports that the conflict in this story unfolds when “Zach senses danger next door and wanders over, only to end up unlocking every monster Stine has ever written. Soon, Zach, Hannah and Stine find themselves fighting the Abominable Snowman in the grocery store and fending off evil gnomes in their kitchen.” This movie will come out on October 16. Coming off of the somewhat mixed reaction to the new Avengers: Age of Ultron poster that was released yesterday, Robert Downey Jr. tweeted out an Iron Man-based poster for the film.
Additionally, he teased that a big announcement is coming in 8 days:
What would qualify as a big announcement here? The obvious answer would be that Spider-Man has been cast, and the announcement yesterday that Danny Elfman would be providing additional music for Avengers: Age of Ultron has some wondering if we might be seeing Spider-Man sooner than we think. For those who may not recall, Elfman composed the score for the Sam Raimi Spider-Man films. Then again, he also scored the Ang Lee Hulk, so any deduction there may be pointless.
I wouldn’t hang my hopes on it, but a post-credits scene might not be out of the question…let’s see what a week from now brings us.
Oscar-winner T Bone Burnett and Grammy-winner Danny Elfman will create the music for The Hunger Games film adaptation. According to the release, this project is “an unprecedented film music collaboration.”
The two composers will work together on the film score. Additionally, Burnett will serve as the executive music producer for both the score and the soundtrack. Many Hunger Games fans have reacted happily to the announcement on Facebook.
Lionsgate’s head of film music Tracy McKnight explained: “The Hunger Games is such a special property – it has worldwide mass appeal, but it’s also sophisticated, cerebral, soulful, and rebellious. We needed a composer who can translate these qualities musically, and we have not one but two incredible artists in an absolutely thrilling first time ever collaboration.”
