I have been getting glimpses of Oliver and the Seawigs, by Philip Reeve and Sarah McIntyre since March of 2013 when they were at the Bologna Children's Book Fair promoting this fantastic book with and amazing array of seawigs, costumes and accoutrements. 3. No Such Thing as Dragons, written and illustrated by Philip Reeve, 186 pp, RL 4

Author (and illustrator!) Philip Reeve wrote No Such Thing as Dragons as an enforced break from writing the spectacular Fever Crumb, which was giving him trouble. On his blog in a post titled, The Old, Old, Story he shares that his main character, Ansel, was intentionally mute "since Fever Crumb getting clogged by long speeches." 4. Fever Crumb, written by Philip Reeve, 323 pp, RL MIDDLE GRADE

Fever Crumb was one of the seven books shortlisted for the Cybil's finalists in the Fanstasy & Science Fiction (Middle Grade) category. While I didn't give it the critical treatment here that I did for the other books that were nominated, I will tell you that it was the top contender for the award, along with Jacqueline West's The Shadows.  All the judges loved it but, ultimately, we felt that
