Jess and Emma opening presents.
My annual hand-made Birthday card. Everything is spelled correctly this year. :)
Wendy made this basket of lavender goodies for me. She made it! Isn't that frickin' awesme? It's a handmade candle and bagged goodies. I am just so impressed. I think she has a cottage industry here.
Bill bought me stars. I love stars. In our old house in PA, we pasted a ton of stars on the ceiling so it felt like we were sleeping outside. I missed those.
Before Christmas, Pamela gave me a whole set of paints! The conversation went like this,
"Oh, you need more paints? I have a ton of those--acrylics--I don't use in my garage. I work in another medium." "Are you serious? OMG! That would be like Xmas for me!" This IS the definition of abundance for me. Do you see how many there are?
What better present than to have Emma Lou here for the holidays. She's not fond of this ribbon. She also steals her own Christmakah presents. Naughty naughty, Emma Lou Bangles.
Lilibeth's spirit visited me twice! I am so bloomin' happy. What a great Birthday present. To make a point, I was working on the computer this morning, and Bill and Jess were sitting in the living room. We have a few ornaments representing the family hanging on a cupboard by the computer. BAM! We heard a huge bonk. It was Lilibeth's wooden ornament sitting on the floor--it fell down. :)

Huiricuta Ecological and Cultural Protected Area, Mexico
Coordinates: 23 42 N 100 54 W
Approximate Area: 285 sq. miles (738 sq. km)
Pilgrimages have long been a part of religious practice for many faiths around the world, and while the purpose and destination of each journey is predictably quite different, a common element among them all seems to be distance. In the case of the Huichol people of western Mexico, their route spans roughly 400 miles to a sacred mountain at the southern limits of the Chihuahuan Desert. (more…)
