1. we're words upon a window written there in steam

Jeepers creepers, the things you do to avoid doing your tax returns, eh? I've actually, finally, updated my children's book blog. I was shocked to see quit how long that project has been put on the back burner, but it was a joy to finally start working on it again. I don't like to blow my own trumpet but I'm rather pleased with this drawing.

There's an explanation for this picture, and another drawing, over on my 'book on a blog' blog! Enter HERE.

2. like a one man band clapping in the pouring rain

So, I've taken a moment for a little commercial break. I thought I'd just let you know that I have now listed my first three zines (above) as a package. This is the cheapest way of buying them, so it's perfect for those of you who have not yet started your AJ collection (can't tell you how uncomfortable I am about writing this sort of stuff). Anyways, you can find them in my Etsy shop HERE. Also, new to the shop is this hot of the press limited edition zine based on my children's book. I have just 75 of these little fellas for sale. You can read more about them on my children's book blog or HERE.

Plus, in other news, I have recently been interviewed by the folks at the brilliant Empty Kingdom. If you are interested in reading about my work, and me, then click HERE.

Right that's the end of the sales pitch. I promise.

3. blink and you'll miss it

Well, finally I have a new post, and a couple of new drawings, over on my book blog. I haven't posted anything there for such a long time. I always knew that that blog would have to plod along but I didn't think it would be plodding quite so slowly. It's not that I don't LOVE working on the book, it's just that these days I seem to have one project or deadline after the other. But hey, I'm not complaining about that.

Anyways, head on over to my other blog for some more looniness. Poke your snout in HERE.

4. forget myself

My last post found me extolling the virtues of endpapers...

...when it struck me that I now have some endpapers of my own...

...not only endpapers, of course, a whole book, but at the moment we are just talking about endpapers...

...it also got me thinking that not only do I love endpapers...

...but I love a good flyleaf too...
...and you know what, I might be blowing my own trumpet here...

...but I think my flyleaves look non too shabby either.

5. all the weaving of my dreams

Finally a new post on my children's book blog. If you want to know more about this mad drawing (and, quite frankly, why wouldn't you?) then head on over HERE.

6. back to the garden

Now that I'm getting back into the swing of things I also want to get back to updating my children's book on a blog too. Unfortunately that's one of those things that gets pushed down the old priority list when time is short. That's OK though. I've been living with this book for the best part of two decades, so it's not like I'm in any rush to get it finished. And, anyway, I kind of like it that way. It's having plenty of time to simmer whilst waiting for the right publishing deal to come along.

So, if you want an explanation for the rather strange drawing above then you'll have to tootle on over there. Enter the weird and, frankly, worrying world that's in my head by clicking HERE.

7. all or nothing

So, obviously, everything I said in the last post was a big fat fib.
I'm a liar. A liar. And, it seems, my pants are, indeed, on fire.

8. who knows what's going to happen?

From shoes to hats. This may look a little familiar. I have posted some photos of this drawing in the past, but I've not posted the actual drawing until now. I got it scanned at a print shop and wasn't too happy with the results. It's a little too bright for my taste. The photos are much better, the colours are more true to the original. See them and read about how I created this drawing HERE.

From now on I promise to stop plugging my children's book blog and drawing shoes. Possibly maybe.

You do have to click on the drawing for a better view.

9. all i need is your whispered hello

As well as shoes, I've been a little preoccupied with my other project recently; my children's book blog. It feels good to be doing something instead of just thinking about it. Today I finally added a page where people can say 'yes, I'd buy this book'. So, (yep, I'm getting around to asking another favour of you guys) if you think you'd like to buy my book, maybe, perhaps, then please add your name to the page. You can do that HERE. My future publisher needs to know!

And, er, yes, this is a drawing of an origami grasshopper automaton hair slide. Don't you have one yet?

10. grey to green

Once again I need to say a great big thank you to you all - for your response to my last post and to the great feedback. It's all much appreciated, and I still have many of you to get back to. I'll get around to it ASAP.

As I said then, I have been meaning to start this new 'book blog' for a long time, but I continued to procrastinate and over think things and then procrastinate some more. Well, not anymore. So, if you are wondering exactly what this is a drawing of, then pop over to my new blog (yikes! I'm nervous) and find out.

While you are there you might, perhaps, who knows, I dunno, if you fell like, maybe, want to start following that blog?

Anyway, I'd love it if you would join me. You can take a look at my new blog HERE.
