For those of you who have been checking in to see my book reviews the last couple of weeks, but have found none, I apologize for disappointing you. Personal circumstances have rather suddenly intervened for the moment, but rest assured, Book Reviews and Author Spotlights will be continuing as soon as things start pulling back together. In the meantime, I'm trying to blog twice a week if not more on random topics, so please enjoy my ramblings until I can get back to my more bookish Friday topics.
Thanks in advance for sticking with me,
Kim
...but pushed to Sunday.
I'll be doing a round-up of my fave Christmas books from childhood and my teaching years. So, enjoy your weekend, and check back Sunday evening to take a peek at some great Christmas picture books, and one hilarious chapter book Christmas classic.
So, after a whirlwind few days of traveling to Thanksgiving with the in-laws, to NYC to see the Rockettes show, and out for a bit of shopping (I live out far enough that shopping for anything but groceries requires a minimum 40 minute commute), I am just wiped.
And it's not over yet - now that my husband is back to work today after the holiday break, the kiddos and I finally have a chance to do some Christmas shopping together for the most important man in our lives.
But, rest assured, I did not fall off the face of the Earth (though it certainly did feel like it yesterday, as I totally crashed and slept most of the day), and I plan to be back to my regular blogging self tonight.
Stay tuned...shopping tends to bring out the best blogging stories in my experience...
I have an absolute treat for my book review this week: a picture book classic, originally published in 1971, that has never gone out of print! It was one of my all-time faves from childhood, and is now a favorite of my own kiddos. Hint - it involves a nasal-tickled pachyderm...
Keep checking back - I hope to have it posted by midnight Sunday...
...for a book review of Kenny and the Dragon, by Tony DiTerlizzi, which I plan to post later today, or Saturday morning at the latest. You won't want to miss it!
...will be up - but not until either late tonight or tomorrow, as I'll be traveling for a good part of the day. So if you're looking for my newest Review/Spotlight, please check back later, and I apologize for any inconvenience.
Regretfully, I was unable to get a book review and author bio completed in time for today's post. I've been working to get ready for my first writer's conference, and didn't juggle things too well this week. I apologize for any inconvenience, and plan to get back to schedule next Friday.
My cousin is getting married this weekend: merging his current life into a new one with his lovely bride-to-be, and creating a whole new and exciting chapter in both their lives.
Similarly (well, kinda-sorta similarly, if you squint one eye, tilt your head upside down, stand on one leg, and shout iggledypop!) I am in the process of redesigning this blog: merging my current content and features into a new design, creating a whole new blogging experience for all you readers and me. I hope to reveal the new layout, a new weekly feature, and a brand spankin' new header personally designed by moi, all in the next couple of weeks, give or take a week or two.
So stay tuned, Bugs and Bunnies readers - a new look will be coming your way soon! Or, sorta soon. As in, if "in the next couple of weeks" counts as soon in your book...
With school out now, my posting times have gotten much later (like, after the kiddos go to bed). So, I will have today's Spotlight and Book Review up, as planned, and aim to have them posted by 11 PM EST.
Thanks for your patience...
My submission for Illustration Friday's "Trick or Treat" is from my 2004 HomeMade calendars and the title is "Harvest Home". This is for the month of October and the quote is: A little house well filled, a little land well tilled" ~proverb~
I am sorry for all the people, animals and wildlife that have been affected by the fires. We feel lucky to have made it through!
I left you something on my blog...
