1. The Half Pipe

I went skate boarding with Ben & Rover last weekend.  We went to the new skateboarding park.  We had a wicked day.  I haven't ridden a skateboard since I took down the demon in his monster truck and that was on a specially adapted racing board.

We started off on the ramps just as a warm up; we soon progressed to the half pipe.  That was something else; I'd never ridden the half pipe before and I only fell off 3 or 4 times. Ben, on the other hand, was a real pro.  He did some amazing jumps, turns and half turns.

Rover was pretty good too.  He didn't fall off at all. We'll have to plan a weekly visit here, I could really get into skateboarding as my new exercise activity.

2. Recipe for Disaster - Ruff Life Style

The Doglet Academy introduced a new class this term.  It certainly wasn't my idea of a fun class.  I mean what famous doglet needs to learn how to cook?  I have a chef for that called Seamus.

This class was worth a lot of credits and it was an easy way to give me top marks for the end of the year.  And you know me, there's no way that I will come in 2nd best at anything. So I enrolled in the class.  I now wish I hadn't.  I'd have been far better off taking a Spanish or French class, or at least my beautiful paw nails would have been; participation in that class made them all soft.

The first thing the teacher said was that I had to get rid of the painted nails, as if...  So I used a pair of latex gloves.  Have you ever tried to work with latex gloves over your paws?  It's a recipe for disaster; the extra fingers flap around and get caught up in everything.

We made pastry but I kept getting my gloves caught under the rolling pin.  Eventually I put the pasty in a pie tin and filled it with some nice looking meat.  It looked great when it was finished.  Even the teacher said how nice and well presented it was. Of course, I made it, how else was it going to look with my natural style of flair?  I couldn't wait to take it home and gloat at Max as to how much better I was than him .  In fact I was going to eat some of it in front of him while he sat salivating.

When I got home I put my plan into action.  I went to find Max.  "Hey I've got something to show you."  I took a bite out of the pie.  The meat was nice but the pastry was hard. "This is really delicious." I then found a chewy bit, which seemed to take for ever to chew. Oh no, I thought when I realised that I had just eaten some of the latex gloves.  "Would you like some?  I made if for you."
"Thanks, what's wrong with it?"
"Nothing, I was just sampling it to show you how delicious it is." I said as I waked away.

3. Toupees or Not Toupees

Lord Alfred doesn't look as good as this in real life, he has way less hair!  Some of his toupee's would be more suited to Max.  They don't have my sense of style.

7. Do I Really Have To?

I can't believe what I have to do now at It's A Ruff Life.  Lord Alfred has been nominated for a business award and is having a special evening in his honour.  I thought I was the only member of this family that had special evenings, in their honour, organised for them.  I can't believe they're doing this but he's created some new invention or other that has gone viral and made him and others a ton of money.

What I really object to is Max is going as well.  Can you imagine it?  He's bound to show me up with the way he dresses.  I can just imagine it.  I'm just going to have to put on a ton of glitter as well as wear my awesomely, new chic, sparkly outfit that Benjamin's designed for me.  I will easily outshine Max but I still don't want to be seen with him.

Maybe he can have an accident so that he can't come.  Even he won't turn up if his fur is covered in something horrible and sticky.  I'll have to see what I can do.

8. A Teal Nest

My VBF, Lemondrop, has never been to a fashion show, can you believe it?  I sometimes think that dog has never lived.  Well lucky for her she's got me as a best friend.  I've arranged a 'bellasome' trip to a top fashion show in London where, guess what?  You've got it right if you worked out that I will be the Star Canine Model.

Benjamin has made me a new set of the most fabulous, bellatastic, sparkly outfits that you can imagine.  I've decided to try out some teal highlights with fur extensions and a 'nest' design on the top of my head to go with them. I will look amazing!

I've talked Lemondrop into having a new fur style for the show.  I can;t have her showing me up by not being trendy. She told me she won't have her fur coloured though.  I can't understand why some dogs are such 'whimps' when it comes to canine fashion trends.

Ursula 's just arrived to take me to Canine Calm.  I can't wait to see what I'll look like with the new fur design, as awesome as ever!

9. Speed Near the Ground - Go-carting Ruff Life Style

Have you ever been go-carting?  You probably have but not with a pair of  lunatic police dogs, am I right? It's a great big fun filled experience, especially when you have a competition like we did - drive the course blindfolded.  Now before you start saying how stupid we were, and I must agree with you there, we were using a police training course and no other carts were on the track.  Still stupid I admit, but it was a lot of fun.

The track was lined with tyres all around so that the hardest thing we could have hit was bouncy rubber.  Still we all ended up with a few bruises.   Rover and Ben were pretty good, but I don't like to come in 2nd place so I went all out whipping around the corners as fast as I dared.  It was a joint first place between me and Rover.  Ben's kart was just shy of hitting the finishing line at the same time as mine so it was his turn to reward  the winners, which he did in style.  He paid for the pizza.

10. To Style or Not To Style - That is Max's Question

After finally agreeing with what I said Max goes and changes his mind about having a new fur style.  I thought he was with me on this and that he wanted to join the trendy 21st century.  I can see that I was wrong.  That dog is never going to be stylish, he's always going to look plain and mongrelly.  I don't know what else I can say to him to make him change his mind.  I mean, I even agreed to go with him and hold his paw.  I'd give up on him only, you know me, and I never gives up on anything I set my mind to and I always get my way in the end..  I suppose I will just have to keep on at him and wear him down until he finally has it done.  He'd look great with some lowlights and a new design I suppose I could always make a mock up image of what he'd look like; he's bound to go for that then.  Even he'd have to admit that flecks of blue would really make him stand out.

13. Jemma Hartman Camper Extrodinare

Jemma Hartman, Camper Extraordinaire Jemma Hartman, Camper Extraordinaire by Brenda A. Ferber

My rating: 5 of 5 stars
This a great book for fifth graders and probably sixth grade as well. It really shows the trials and tribulations of growing older, growing apart from friends and having to share someone you see as your BFF. It has a great lesson to be learned. I would say mostly girls only would find something to relate to in the story, so I doubt I would read it aloud, but I would recommend it to any girl in my class. I REALLY liked this story and the character, Jemma. It took me back to junior high and even brought a tear to my eye. (In kind of a sad/happy way) Do we think this is going to be a series??? What is your opinion?
