1. Extra Points for the Independent Bookstore

First-time authors: Want to promote your book via tour? Know how the big names do it but curious to see the smaller author doing something original too? Check out this bit I found on ShelfTalker this week. Voila, an author getting creative. Free lemonade? I'd go for that. I should note too that Ms. Davies also did something original with the book trailer for this title. I mentioned this once before, but it's just such a great example of low-budget, high-interest. Half the battle on marketing is just getting your name out there and this writer seems to have some pretty damn good ideas on how to go about doing so.
