For my contribution to the challenge, my favorite superhero: any kid who puts his or her underwear on outside their pajamas.

Yesterday's Superhero posting was a little dark so I decided to go the opposite direction... Captain Marvel!
SHAZAM! was probably the first comic book I recall reading when I was a little kid and I've loved the character ever since. I'm not fond of the changes DC has been making to him recently, but I'm looking forward to Mike Kunkel's SHAZAM! comicbook coming out soon. His designs look awesome!

Although I like the character of Booster Gold very much, I have never felt his costume was very futuristic. this is what I would feel that he should look like being from the future. or from the 80's.
well, it's gotta be better than this! (even with a slightly new look it still is the most boring costume in the world. THE WORLD!)

One of my favorite heroes when I was collecting comics was DC's Dr. Fate. Loved the helmet!

So, yeah, I couldn't pass up this week's SFG challenge: Superhero! I've got a whole gallery of drawings of some of my favorites up on my website. Sadly, it doesn't look like I'm going to have time to draw a new one just for SFG, but here's one of my old faves instead: the Sensational She-Hulk!

Happy New Year SFG!
I am sending you all great New Years tidings (telepathically of course) and my best wishes for you in the next twelve months.
That being said here is my Sorta Super Hero.
Kratos, the god of breaking things. Perhaps he is really more of an anti-hero but, he fights gods so I guess he has some powers or Issues.
Thanks for any comments or support.

Here are a couple wallpapers I recently did which fit the Superhero theme. Inspired by some Flash based Christmas gifts I wanted to do something with his symbol. I liked how the Flash turned out so I continued with Batman. Done in Photoshop (of course), but I limited the filters and really attempted to figure the lighting stuff for myself. Anyway Happy New Year!

The challenge on sugar frosted goodness this week is "superhero".
Don Diego de la Vega, the mild-mannered caballero who at night donned the black cape and hood and made his mark against evildoers as Zorro, first made his appearance in print in the All Story Weekly in Johnston McCulley's five-part series entitled "The Curse of Capistrano," on August 9, 1919. Douglas Fairbanks generated a sensation in 1920 with his silent film The Mark of Zorro, an adaptation of McCulley’s first Zorro story, which remains one of the great classics of that era. Two decades later Tyrone Power and Basil Rathbone starred in the successful 1940 sound remake of The Mark of Zorro.
The most notable character whose creation was highly influenced by Zorro is Batman, created by Bob Kane and Bill Finger in 1939. In the origin, the Wayne family actually attend The Mark of Zorro at the cinema the night Bruce's parents are murdered, and the future Batman takes some inspiration from the masked hero. Zorro keeps his horse in the basement of his house, and Batman keeps his Batmobile in a similar hideout, the Batcave.
Two superheroes for the price of one.

Happy New Year SFG'ers!
I hope everyone survived the holiday madness and is ready with pencil or stylus in hand to tackle the next SFG challenge with gusto. ;)
Thought I'd start out the new year with a bang, this week's theme is "Superhero."
The SFG Challenge runs Thursday to Thursday, and was created to offer every member an opportunity to stretch their creative muscles, venture outside of their artistic boundaries and post their interpretations each week on a specific theme. This is a completely voluntary challenge!
Be sure to label your illustrations with the appropriate labels as well. Label your entries with your name and the challenge label, in this case SFG: Superhero
The next challenge begins Thursday, January 10, 2008.
Hey Vivian. Nice to see you (in photo). Sounds interesting. You’re always two steps ahead.
