I was recently asked a question about the Boomer and Halley Project I couldn't answer. "How hard are you hitting civility?" Hmmmmm... Perhaps, not hard enough!
The truth is, when I started writing Boomer and Halley stories that introduce life lessons to young children, no one wanted to talk about civility. I had people telling me to go on talk radio. They told I had to scream and yell to get my message of kindness and caring heard. That never felt right.
Recent events suggest that when civility is absent, chaos and stagnation take center stage. To move individual and collective positive agendas forward, it's going to take people working together. That mindset has to begin early in life, celebrated and reinforced often. It's the only way to make sure it will take hold. Sounds kinda dreary, huh?
What if it doesn't have to be? What if that message could be delivered with laughter and love? What if learning how to be well-behaved could be a silly adventure? Can Civility Be Fun? Boomer and Halley say, "YES!"
That's our new slogan. My answer to the question I was asked was to go back and re-tool and re-focus the message of the Boomer and Halley book series. By next week we hope to unveil the new look. Can't wait to hear what you think!
