Some of my fondest memories are with my german shepard Cody. I still remember the day my family and I drove down to the local shelter and adopted this cute and tiny little puppy with large golden-brown eyes.
He was the most energetic and friendly dog I had ever seen. The first day we brought him home, he dashed off to explore his new home and left lots of messes to clean up in his wake.
Looking back, I feel it was a wonderful thing having a companion growing up with me. I learned responsibility in having to take care of Cody and made many memories that I will never forget.
