A bit of "back to school" juxtaposition... or some sort of color commentary on the size of modern day backpacks. The choice is yours :)

And this strip too comes on the heels of our recent summer bike trip. Awesome indeed how much the gears can help when the load gets heavy and the hills get steep!

I'm quite late to posting this due to some extended time away from home and the computer, but here you go with a little wolverine Olympic spirit on the closing weekend of the summer games :)

I usually ink my comics on paper and then color them in Photoshop with the wacom. In order to keep a lighter load for the International Literacy Association conference in Boston last weekend I left the computer at home and did this week's strip on an iPad Pro with the Procreate app -- and I'm pretty pleased with the result! Not only that, but that app records the entire process so you can basically watch me brainstorm :) NOT a pretty process, so don't expect a video link every week!

Still reveling in the exploratory freedoms of summer :) Not quite the same luxury for adults as it generally might be for kids, but good to remember that even away from "work" we can still be soaking' things in!

Things are a little easier in the summer... but is that always better?

Amazingly enough, it's graduation week again in Harts Pass country. Another year has flown the coop, and the world is wild with possibility. Intuition kiddos. Go fourth with your gut and be good!

As per usual, the crack reporting team over at the WBN (Wolverine Broadcasting Network) presents a spot-on synthesis of pop culture and environmental reporting!

The annual Sunflower Marathon, my spring track coaching, and a new book on the legendary Czech Olympian, Emil Zatopek, converge in this week's Harts Pass.

Spring finally sprung while we were away last week on break. Appropriately a little cooler and damp to end the week, but multiple days of 70 degrees and sunshine melts a lot of snow and gets the new leaves cranking along :) And yes, the bears should be getting up again too!

As the creator of this comic strip and the scribe of occasional commentary therein, I will in no way shape or form be voting for anyone resembling this cartoon candidate. I would however, vote for this cartoon candidate before I would vote for anyone that he resembles. That being said, I will definitely vote, and thankfully NOT for a cartoon character.

It's true, the wolverines want nothing to do with divisive, fear-mongering politics. Enough said!

Wolverines are AMAZING endurance athletes, traveling as much as 15-20 miles per day in search of food. That being said, they also do much of that travel at night and at high altitudes, so maybe they're pulling a fast one and sleeping more than we know :) GRRR!

A Canadian mining company is looking to do some exploratory drilling on the northwestern edge of our Methow Valley home. The Forest Service has yet to approve their request, but the Community is rallied around the cause. 'No thank you' open pit copper mines, and good luck finding your way to the $$$.
