I have written all my life but my day job was a first-grade teacher. I've gotten a few articles and a novella published, but now that I'm retired, I'm seriously pursuing my passion. I've joined SCBWI. I'd appreciate any help or advice and would like to make new friends, as I write my first children's novel.

Fellow writers:  I'm writing my first children's novel, featuring a paper doll who comes to life.  I've read that editors cringe when seeing manuscripts where inanimate  objects come to life.  Is this true?  Any suggestions?  Thank you very much.  Angela
